An Honest Review: Archies Flip Flops
Let’s chat about flip flops! I recently took a chance on Archie’s flip flops after I realized it had been six years (!!!) since I last bought a pair. I had worn out my leather Olukai sandals after perhaps one too many outdoor showers or summer rainstorms. I loved those sandals, which I’d get again and again, but wanted to try new flip flops that were a little more forgiving to everyday wear and tear. Read: I wanted something I could hose down.
I also wanted something that had arch support, like my Olukais. I made the decision long ago to never ever again wear cheap shoes! But I also never thought I’d find rubbber flip flops that were actually good for my feet…enter, Archies!
After reading a few of the 50,000+ five-star reviews, I gave it a go. I ordered them in taupe. I’ll be honest - when they first arrived I felt them in the package, they felt almost too lightweight to be true. I mistook their lightweight feel for low quality. I thought to myself, “they cost $35 and I was suckered in by their effective marketing.”
Only a few moments later, my disappointment was gone - in fact, I was seriously impressed! Fast forward to the end of the summer and I am still so impressed by everything about them. Now that I’ve been wearing them for over a month pretty much NON STOP, I can honestly tell you it was perhaps the best sandals purchase I’ve ever made!
Comfort is key. I can honestly say I have walked miles (consecutively!) in these flip flops and never once do my feet hurt. They are perfect for walks around the block, or walks on the beach.
Durability — yes, these flip flops have impressed me with how durable they are! I wore them multiple times in the Outer Banks at the beach, indoors, by the pool, and during outdoor showers. At home, I wear them every day for errands or getting the mail. They are well-made, and Archies’ website claims that you can stretch them out (they fit tight intentionally for best foot support) I did not find them to be ultra-stretchy.
Archies are $35. While it might seem expensive for simple rubber flip flops, I would say I have worn these often enough already that they have paid for themselves! They are 100% worth it.
