Early Spring Inspired

Glad to be checking in on the other side of winter (or so it feels)! It has been a few months of ice and snow, and while it has been cozy and refreshing, it hasn’t been without its difficulties. I am reveling in the stronger rays of light, afternoon walks, bluebird days with warmer temperatures, and the bursts of crocuses I have seen out the window on my morning commute.

It’s a restart, for sure. Here are some things that making me inspired about our upcoming new season!

Gardening

I have big dreams for our back porch that might be a bit ambitious! Pergolas, creeping thyme, bistro lights, hedges, cushy furniture sets, you get the idea. Photos from my Pinterest board.

CLothing

The cardigan / dresses / midi skirts / florals and high-waisted jeans has my heart singing! The dresses trend in particular warms my heart because it reminds me of my summers in Italy. That is ALL I wore. I am thinking that this spring and summer should be the season of dresses! Free the legs!

Food

Between Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy and Ted Lasso, I am getting weirdly inspired by some awesome TV shows. I have a hankering for trying some new pasta dishes, like cacio e pepe (I have never had it), or baking shortbread cookies from scratch. Last spring was the season of baking as well due to the Covid lockdown, too!

I am equally craving RESTAURANT food! I miss the taste of NEW things…is that weird? Takeout is great, but I really am hopeful that this summer brings some travel and trying out new places to eat.

And lastly, we bought a Nespresso machine last month and it has been a delightful addition to my morning routine. I am loving lattes out of a mug!

ciao! xo
