Picnic at Hollow House Farm
When you put your all into dreaming, wishing, doing and making, that hunger starts to seem insatiable. It’s consuming and exhausting and messy. But when you find people like YOU — and then those very people uplift you, encourage you to create, and collaborate with you — there is no better satisfaction. It’s rare to find your people, but it is possible. When you DO find those people, anything is possible.
I literally recorded those 5 sentences into my voice memos after a particularly inspiring shoot at Hollow House Farm! I met Lisa here and she is not only so warm and welcoming, but she ignites an entrepreneurial fire under me every time I spend some time with her. She is a force of nature…running a farm, a business, and working with so many other local creatives to connect and cultivate relationships! Her community-centric vibe is life giving.
I have been wanting to define my visual voice behind the lens a bit more and Hollow House was the perfect backdrop. I shot with a greyer, grainier feel for these photos to match the mood. Our picnic was from an uncharacteristically chilly summer morning. We noshed on Lisa’s freshest fruit and baked pastries as we explored the farm and its developments. There are early summer buds blossoming, the sweetest strawberry patch (they literally taste like candy!), and chickens and ducks getting used to some new and improved digs. It is so inspiring to see the buds of flowers coming up, which were only just seeds mere weeks ago.
It was a joy to shoot here and I can’t wait for more adventures and fun at Hollow House!
ciao, xo
