Life lately is full of days where there is a to-do list a mile long, and yet at the same time, there is seemingly no time to it! It is a cozy and comfy time of year, and the weather has been keeping us indoors. With temperature in the single digits some days, tight swaddles and blankets are exactly what the doctor orders. I can only blame myself for my restless mind and impatience to “bounce back” after baby, because I know that this should be a time of deep rest and quiet. These pictures make it look quite so, don’t they?
What else is going on…
Patiently anticipating warmer spring days
Trying to balance my coffee / caffeine intake with lots of water (but oh, the joys of drinking out of an actual mug!). Every Nespresso pod feels like a little indulgence.
Baby naps on naps on naps! Baby loves to be held while sleeping, and sometimes it feels like she won’t sleep otherwise. I secretly love it, until I need some hands free time of course!
Craving lots of soup, soup, soup, and soup. Maternity leave cooking is not as sumptuous as I thought it would be, so Rao’s Tortellini and Vegetable soup has been my easy and slightly indulgent go-to.
Admiring how well Rosie has adapted to being a big sister; she is so sweet, gentle, and patient and kind. Sometimes I prop baby G up on Rosie, and Rosie just licks licks and licks! We have really tried to keep Rosie feeling important and special during this huge transition!
Astonished at how quickly Baby G is growing, she is almost too big for her newborn onesies (she’s a tall one!)
Binging on anything related to Queen Victoria! I re-watched watched “Victoria,” the PBS/Masterpiece series, and it is so luscious. I love a good period drama. I am also loving the brand new show Gilded Age, and making a point to watch it with my mom as a new weekend tradition!
My new Pilates kick is equal parts nourishing and challenging! It is difficult to squeeze in a 20 minute workout because I swear Baby G knows she is not being held! But, the videos are great and I love T-F Studio’s layout. When I do squeeze in a workout, I realize that focusing on small muscle groups is a great way to slowly get back moving without overdoing it.
