An Announcement

Brimming with joy, and admittedly with anticipation/excitement/confusion/utter cluelessness, we are thrilled to announce that we are going to be having a baby (SO SOON!)

Baby G will be joining us late December/early January, whenever they decide to make their appearance. Gender is known, and names are picked out…but I am doing my best to keep it a secret (especially on the internet). No one reads this anyway, but still! It has been so hard to decide if or when to spill the beans virtually, so I just didn’t. Instead I enjoyed every ounce of my summer and did a social media detox which was so soothing for the soul. And probably Baby G, too!

The nursery is being prepared, stocked and increasingly filled with fuzzy onesies and adorable outfits and toys. It has been so overwhelming, yet fun, to determine what kind of stuff we will need. I wonder what type of parents we will be! I want to be minimalist yet chic, breezy and definitely non-anxious (we will see how that goes).

The transformation over the last few months goes so much more beyond the physical - the best part has been internally, where I’ve had a reset of priorities, a realization of the miracle that is life, and a sort of naive anticipation of just how much our lives will change. Everything is so personal and intimate about it, but I will say here that the journey has been so pleasant, clarifying, and eye-opening in all of the best ways…I never thought I’d enjoy pregnancy as much as I have.

I am just beginning my third trimester, and our little New Year’s Eve baby will be with us before we know it. I can’t wait for all of the swaddles, cuddles, coos and kisses…
