Favorite Autumn Corner in My House
Decorating for the autumn and winter in this house are my absolute two favorite seasons! I tend to decorate for the entire season, with holiday decor (for Halloween and Christmas) sprinkled in as those special days get closer. I think a backdrop of natural, tonal and seasonal decor is relaxing and timeless for all times of year, but I especially love the texture and warmth that fall and winter bring!
As much as I love maximalist styles, I think when it comes to my own palette I am more of a minimalist. I stick with the same color schemes seasonally, and I like my accents to be neutral more so than colorful. I am a huge fan of adding warmth through natural textures — like that wooden basket, illuminated twinkle light branch, and sea grass ottoman.
I cut down that branch from a dying tree in our backyard. It was a small dogwood tree that I never properly planted, and unfortunately the tree didn’t make it. I felt so so guilty because it was pretty much my fault. But, instead of throwing the whole thing out, I got to at least cut down 3/4 of the tree and turn it into some home decor. It may not seem like it, but it’s a really tall branch!
