Reinventing the LBD for Summer

I am a huge proponent of buying better when it comes to my “capsule wardrobe,” and I am particularly passionate about buying essentials for all four seasons. You know, the foundational pieces that we need and keep in our rotation 24/7 - white tees, jeans, a good old cardigan, and of course, the LBD (little black dress).

I love this Anthropologie dress because I classify it as a four-seasons LBD and keep it in my wardrobe constantly. It’s a great piece to build off; in the fall/winter I can pair it with a sweater and booties, and in the spring/summer I can wear it by itself. It has a nice high neckline which makes it great for work. And although you can’t really tell from these photos, it has a playful plunging back which keeps it comfortable and airy!

It’s so important to have closet staples like this LBD. Here, I wore it with a straw hat (which is a statement accessory in and of itself) as well as a matching natural weave elastic belt. This outfit is perfect for a summer day and you can wear it to any daytime occasion.
