Festive Feelings
The lead up to Christmas might be one of my favorite times of the year, without a doubt. The countdowns til Christmas, twinkly lights, and smell of fresh greens never fail to inspire me and leave me feeling oh so excited for the holidays.
It is hard to believe we are 15 or so days away from Christmas! I am a little behind on my decorating…because everything is extra effort when you’ve got an almost 1-year old to tend to. I have had to do all my decorating after bedtime so I didn’t go full tilt this year. I think right now my favorite accent is the mantle, besides our pretty tree. The mantle has the most beautiful stockings all hung (by the chimney with care) and I was particularly excited because we had them made and embroidered. They’re from Etsy! On top of the mantle is an heirloom Norman Rockwell “Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas” that was given to me last year by mom after we went to Stockbridge for a girls weekend. It was magical!
So far this month, we haven’t done a ton of shopping, parades or light shows. However it has been such a nice time (and going too fast)! We still have yet to bake, watch our favorite classic Christmas movies, and get ready for our holiday parties. I am so excited for the next few weeks! Truly trying to let it all sink in and enjoy each and every moment! Christmas songs are on repeat, the tree is up, and the least tangible thing - the Christmas spirit - is in full force!
