Snow on February 7th

Our pretty doorstep.

In the spirit of one of my favorite home videos, Snow on March 1st, I proudly present this wee little video here! We woke up on Sunday, Feb 7 (also Super Bowl Sunday) to a beautiful scene out of our window. A fresh coating of snow, falling softly yet robustly. I knew I wanted to film while the snowflakes were still heavy, so out I went with my tripod and 50 mm!

There was always this quote I liked from the show Ugly Betty… “snow is magical blanket,” and makes everything “beautiful.”

In Snow On March 1st, filmed at home at my parents’ house, Scout and Georgia stole the show. Jamie helped me get them to tilt their heads, bark, run and chase a ball, etc. I tried to capture Rosie in a similarly playful way, but she just loves sticking her little snoot in the snow and sniffing around. She’s such a puppy still!

As I sip my coffee on this snowy Sunday morning, I feel a little bit more at peace and grateful for the slowness…
