I’m starting a new series that’s a spinoff of the honest reviews I’ve done in the past. I’m calling it “Things I’ve Bought and Loved.” The idea is exactly the same but I want it to be clear that these items I am reviewing are ALL items I’ve bought with my own money, nothing is sponsored or gifted! I love trying new things and sharing a great product.

I’ve been needing to re-up some beauty essentials in my vanity and I have found myself continually reaching for these new additions. First, the HAUS LABS Foundation. I was recommended this brand by my sweet makeup artist friend that I recently reconnected with after working a wedding together. Her talent is wild, and she works with celebs all of the time so of course I was interested in her opinion! She recommended HAUS LABS, which is a newer brand by Lady Gaga. I am a bit skeptical when it comes to celeb-owned beauty brands, but decided to give it a try. I needed a medium coverage, buildable foundation that was suitable for all-day wear. Buying makeup online, especially shades that you’d like to match your skin-tone, has never been better these days. The quiz I did matched me perfectly with my shade and I have been so happy with this purchase!

Second, some new hair accessories. I tried this TELETIES flat clip to replace some of claw clips that get in the way while I am driving and my head bumps against the headrest. I opted for the largest size possible in a blonde tortoise shade. It’s 4.25” wide and the best for thick hair, which I have. I am really used to twisting my hair up in a claw clip, so this one’s different shape has me trying new knots and configurations. In addition to clips, I am loving the elegance of a pair of simple FRENCH HAIR PINS. I got these from an artisan handmade seller and they are great for thick hair, too.

My hair stylist and colorist recommended this REDKEN Volume Injection Conditioner and I am really impressed with it. I always love a shot of volume especially in the front/sides of my hair. I am not sure if it’s my busy schedule or pregnancy hormones, but I have been getting away with going 3 days in between hair washes lately and it’s been awesome. This conditioner is keeping up with the longer stretches of time in between my washes.

Lastly, and the one I might be the most excited about is this SKINCEUTICALS PHLORETIN CF Vitamin C Serum. This is a type of Vitamin C is one of their hero products because it is just so well regarded and received by so many. Phloretin is a Vitamin C for your morning routine that evens discoloration in the skin and works to brighten the complexion. It’s oil free, so it’s a great Vitamin C if you’re acne prone or have combination skin. I did my research and this brand came out as the best overall, so I am really excited about adding this serum into my long-term regimen.
